For the 2009 JO Volleyball season girls Volleyball players up through 10th grade in Becker, MN have two options.

1)If your goal is to be a varsity or possibly even college volleyball player and you seriously want to be the best volleyball player you can be there is the Becker Slam. The Becker Slam is run like a varisty program where the players who give the team the best chance to win the match are going to be on the floor. Playing time is not equal. This program was started in 2008 to give those girls who wanted to have advanced volleyball competition an option to stay in Becker instead of going to other area Volleyball clubs. The Slam will practice 1-2 times per week and play approximately 45-50 matches plus 2-4 scrimmages in Nov-Dec. Players are expected to do conditioning outside of volleyball practice.

For 2009 the Slam will have two teams. One made up of 9th & 10th graders playing at the 16u level and a second made up of 8th grade and below playing at the 14u level. Each team will have 8-9 players which will be determined by a combination or 2008 JO Season evaluations, School Season evaluations and a Tryout date in October of 2008. Those players that do not make the Slam team can still play on Becker's JO teams.

Estimated investment for 2009 will be between $300-$400

2) If you just like to play volleyball, are not ready for the intense schedule of the Slam team, are looking for more level playing time (see playing time guidelines) but still want competitive volleyball we offer JO programs as members of the Heartland Association. These teams practice once per week and will play 25-30 matches at 7th grade and above and 18-20 at the 6th grade and under level. The sixth grade and under teams play at the 12u level.

Estimated investment for 2009 for grade 7th and up will be between $200-$250

Estimated investment for 2009 for grades 5 & 6 will be between $140-$160
